An app to extend the Orbea experience beyond the purchase

We partnered with Orbea in defining, designing, and developing an app designed to extend the relationship with the brand after the purchase, simplifying bike management and transforming technical needs into a useful and straightforward experience.
THE APP THAT GOES WITH YOU IN YOUR JERSEY POCKET
Orbea had a clear intention: that the interaction with the brand wouldn't end when the bike left the store, but would continue through use, maintenance, and every pedal stroke.
The Orbea RS Connect app becomes a useful tool for everyday use, designed to keep the bike always in top condition, with quick adjustments, accessible updates, and all the important information gathered in one place. A digital garage that accompanies everything that happens before, during, and after each ride.


From need to proposal
We approached product definition from a research, analysis, and co-creation phase. The goal was to fully understand what the application should solve, what role it should play for Orbea as a brand, and how to realistically respond to the needs of its target audience.
To achieve this, we worked with various co-creation dynamics and creative thinking techniques that helped us organize the project and make informed decisions. We built stakeholder maps, drew flowcharts, conducted interviews and surveys, used the personas technique, and developed mind maps to visualize opportunities, identify friction points, and structure a clear value proposition.

An interface that reduces the gap between intention and action
Based on the strategic and functional definition, we worked on the app's design to ensure everything was quick to understand and easy to use. The interface is conceived as a natural extension of the brand and the product itself, with a clear structure and a clean visual language that facilitates connection, information retrieval, and system configuration. More than just an experiential app, it functions as a useful control panel, well-integrated within the Orbea ecosystem.
Configuring assistance levels, customizing controls, activating the warranty, or adjusting components like the dropper post previously required using external applications or different channels. Orbea RS Connect brings all of this together in a single environment, making these actions more direct and consistent.
From Design to Product
In addition to defining the experience and designing the interface, we worked on the application's layout to translate the visual system, components, and workflows into a development-ready platform. This step was crucial for ensuring continuity in the product development process and guaranteeing consistency between the strategic vision, the defined experience, and its subsequent implementation. The development was carried out in collaboration with Irontec, combining capabilities to build a robust and well-executed solution. Workoholics handled the experience design, app layout, and frontend development, while Irontec led the backend development.
Thus, the project went beyond a mere visual proposal, becoming a well-developed, viable tool ready for coherent implementation. The result is an application that allows Orbea to maintain a useful presence without forcing the relationship, and that opens a new kind of connection with those who use their bicycles.
